Our May meeting was our third hybrid meeting (in-person and virtual). We started with round table introductions.

Our guest speaker was Kevin Arenburg from Hollister. He has been with the company 23 years. Hollister is an employee owned company celebrating 101 years.
- Kevin mentioned that an old product line will end soon for a variety of reasons (machinery hard to fix, etc.). This makes room for new products and new inventions.
- The new CeraPlus™ products feature a skin barrier formulation infused with ceramide, a natural element found in skin to keep it healthy. It helps lock moisture in and reduces itchiness.
- Stomas come in different shapes and sizes, so CeraPlus™ Products include a skin barrier option with soft convexity design for a flexible fit. This barrier moves with you, providing gentle contact around the stoma for security, even around skin creases and uneven surfaces. You get a secure and comfortable fit that protects from leakage.
- New Soft convexity is very flexible and is available in 1-piece, 2-piece, pre-cut and cut-to-fit (they do not have moldable yet).
- Light convexity is the same as soft convexity. There is no common language.
- CeraRing Barrier Ring (8805, 8815) – 4mm rings with ceramide in them, moldable, stretchable, absorbs moisture around stoma, hold their shape. Send a note to Nancy for free samples.
- New product for ileostomies that are considered high output. A larger style pouch with a valve at the bottom. It is available in 1-piece or 2-piece. It can be connected to a large overnight bag (which is reusable).
- m9™ Odor Eliminator Drops and a spray – there is no smell to this product.
- CeraPlus™ Barrier Extenders with ceramide in them. Use on edge of wafers if they are lifting.
- CeraPlus™ Skin Barrier with ceramide in them. Use under the wafer.
- No products for concave as of yet. Kevin recommends 8931 the most flexible product available. Available in 1-piece and precut.
- Payless Medical uses a courier service that requires a signature now. Need to put a form in the door to say leave the package.
- CANMedDirect.ca has the same low prices as Payless Medical.
- New Brunswick Wound & Continence Summit June 1st at the Fredericton Convention Center.
- Our June meeting will be an outdoor picnic at Odell Park in Fredericton. Date and time to be determined. Refreshments and gas (for those travelling any distance) will be supplied by the group funds.
